Poetry:​

Translated many poems from Arabic (Old Arabic, Classical Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic, and Egyptian Colloquial Arabic) to English as well as from English to Arabic (Modern Standard Arabic):

> Arabic to English Translations:​

• Poems by sixth-century pre-Islamic poets Imru' al-Qais and Bishr bin Abī Khāzim al-Asadī (from OA), seventh-century poets Al-Khansāʾ and Umayya bin Abī al-Şalt (from OA), tenth-century Abbasid poets Abū al-Fatḥ Kushajim and Abū al-ʿAlāʾ al-Maʿarrī (from CA), Iraqi poet Ghareeb Iskander (from MSA), Egyptian poet Salah Jahin (from ECA), Syrian poet Kamal Kheir-Beik (from MSA), Egyptian poet Amal Dunqul (from MSA), Egyptian poet Emad Abu Saleh (from MSA), Omani poet Aisha Al-Saifi (from MSA), Omani poet Shumaisa Al-Nuʿmani (from MSA), among others.

> Arabic to English Translations:​

• Short stories by Egyptian author Yahia Al-Tahir Abdullah (from MSA), Emirati writer Amal al-Sahlawi (from MSA), Kuwaiti author Fadwa al-Taweel (from MSA), among others.

> English to Arabic Translations:​

• Lucinda Parker Roberts' Lucy's Liver Transplant: A Story about Organ Donation (to ECA).

Philosophy and Critical Theory:​

> English to Arabic Translations:​

• Translated three chapters from a PhD dissertation on philosophy of religion from English to Arabic (MSA) using specialised monolingual and multilingual dictionaries and corpora. (approx. 30,000 words)

• Worked closely with Assoc. Prof. Karam Abu Sehly on reviewing his final translation of a book on Frankfurt School and critical theory, where I revised the Arabic translation against the English source to spot and correct errors in punctuation, grammar, and translation. (approx. 100,000 words)

• Compiled an English-Arabic glossary for the above-mentioned book.

• Translated several critical and literary articles from English to Arabic (MSA), published in Egyptian Researchers (Egypt) [more info]. (approx. 30,000 words)

(Geo)politics, Human Rights, and Economics:​

> Arabic to English Translations:​

• Translated two book chapters on human rights and war economy in Yemen from Arabic to English (US) using UN Editorial Manual, UNTERM Portal, and dtSearch to provide an accurate and consistent translation that adheres to UN style and terminology. (approx. 30,000 words)

> English to Arabic Translations:​

• Worked closely with Assoc. Prof. Karam Abu Sehly, Research Fellow at the Institute of Philosophy, Freie Universität Berlin (Germany) on reviewing his final translation of several book chapters on geopolitics, where I revised the Arabic translation (MSA) against the English source to spot and correct errors in punctuation, grammar, and translation. (approx. 45,000 words)​

• Translated administrative documents related to the field of higher education from English to Arabic (MSA) and vice versa for October 6 University's Quality Assurance and Accreditation Centre.

Community Projects:​

> English to Arabic Translations:​

• Translated and edited various documents on domestic abuse, housing benefits, and other UK-related civic information from English to Arabic (MSA), published on Migration Yorkshire's Migrant Info Hub.

Commercial Translations:​

• Translated university certificates and transcripts; birth and marriage certificates; CVs/résumés; cover letters; e-mails; Arabic inscriptions on antique items; personal letters; among others.
